Of course everyone we know has crap they deal with - our kids, our parents, our partner, our best friend...everyone at some point is NOT okay. It's important to be there for our loved ones, but sometimes we can sympathize so much, it starts to drain our energy.
.
Empathy is great, it's needed, but be sure to protect yourself against too much of it. When you're spending every day upset, drained, and distraught, all at the expense of someone else's drama, this can be very unhealthy.
.
When I start to over empathize, I tell myself this mantra, "I see you're not okay, but I'm okay." This helps me remember that I'm supporting my loved one, I'm there for them, but I'm still okay. If I take care of my emotional health, I will be of better service to my loved ones.

Hi, I'm Tiffani. 🙋🏼‍♀️ For this weeks #fridayintroductions I’d love to tell you why I created my business @coffeeattiffanis. It was years in the making...I wanted a place that could answer the calling in my heart to empower women, support small business, and give back to women in our communities. After years of searching I finally had the idea of Coffee @ Tiffani’s while driving home from a Rise Conference last summer.

I love the heat that @jensincero brings in her books 🔥 Think, what excuses are you telling yourself that are holding you back from success??

Maybe they sound like, "I could never do that. I'm too old. I'm not that smart. I don't understand technology. I don't have enough support. It will take too long." - I could go on forever!!
.
Our excuses roll around in our heads without us even knowing it! Now that I've been paying attention to my thoughts, I hear myself making up excuses ALL THE TIME. I can't believe how many times I tell myself I can't, or I don't know how, or that's not for me.
.
Try to slow down and pay attention to what you're telling yourself. If you hear an excuse, flip it!, and tell yourself the opposite. You CAN. You DO know how, or you can figure it out. Your NOT TOO OLD.
.
Whatever the excuse, let's stop letting them secretly sabotage our lives. This is YOUR life, and nothing gets to be in charge of it but YOU.
