Ratchet & Clank is now in theaters! We took our children, (ages 5, 8, & 9), to see it over the weekend.
Here is the movie synopsis from the Website: “Ratchet is the last of his kind, a foolhardy lombax who grew up without a family. Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn. After stumbling upon a weapon that can destroy entire planets, they join forces with a team of do-gooders known as the Galactic Rangers. Together, they must stop the evil alien Chairman Drek from utilizing this dangerous technology. Along the way, Ratchet and Clank learn valuable lessons about heroism, friendship and discovering one’s own identity.”
This movie isn’t getting great reviews and I can see why. It isn’t your big budget blockbuster and the story lacks the super entertaining plot.
That being said, my boys (ages 8 & 9) loved it! This is a space pretend movie that is best suited for gamers who like to use their imagination. The movie is also a video game for the PlayStation 4, which my boys have already been playing. They were so excited to see the movie! During the show they were completely entertained. Afterwards my eight year old said he’d rate it over 1000 out of ten! My five year old daughter wasn’t as enthused, however she did sit still and watch the whole movie.
Going into it I wasn’t expecting much, although I was excited to see it because my boys were. The movie gave me exactly what I was expecting. Nothing less, nothing more. It had some funny parts and a good message. It wasn’t scary at all and overall is was great for the whole family.
I would recommend this movie for boys ages 5-9. Especially boys that like playing video games and pretend play. Here is a link to buy the PlayStation 4 video game on Amazon. My boys really like the game!
